Ursula Sellers, age 68, passed away, Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Hendricks Hospital Hospice unit. Her memorial service with Chaplain E.J. Chafin officiating, will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South.

Ursula was born December 19, 1939 in Wiesbaden Germany to Friedel and Margarete Holmann. She married Leroy E. Meszler in Wiesbaden in 1959 and moved to Rome, New York, they had three daughters and a son together.  Leroy passed away in 1972 and Ursula married Roger Sellers on October 26, 1974. The U.S. Air Force brought the family to Dyess AFB, Abilene in September 1985, where she worked for the Club system on Dyess for many years. She was a life member of the women’s auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the women’s auxiliary to the Non Commissioned Officers Association.

Ursula was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Alfred and Horst Holmann of Wiesbaden, and her first husband Leroy of Rome, New York.

Ursula is survived by her husband, Roger Sellers of Abilene; three daughters, Cindya Phillips and husband Keith of Lonoke, Arkansas, Pamela Comport of Abilene, and Kimberly Christ and husband Gerrard of Vanceboro, North Carolina; a son, Michael Meszler and wife Terry of Abilene; two sisters, Rosemarie Weaver of Indialantic Florida, and Ingrid Kenney and husband Daniel of Las Vegas Nevada; two brothers, Dieter Holmann of Wiesbaden, Germany, and Klaus Juergen Holmann of Nice, France. Ursula had 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was loved very much and will be missed by all.

The family wishes to thank Doctor Melnyk and the entire staff of the Texas Cancer Center in Abilene, and the Nurses and staff of both the Oncology unit, and of the Hospice unit at Hendricks Medical Center for making her final days as comfortable as possible.
